Medical studies comprise six years of study grouped into two levels of training.
The Master of Medicine (3 years, 180 ECTS credits) is the second level, following the Bachelor of Medicine (3 years, 180 ECTS credits).
The Master of Medicine course is dedicated to the teaching of the theoretical bases of pathologies and the clinical bases of patient treatment.
This Master’s degree is required for admittance to the Swiss Federal Examination in Medicine, which is common to all Swiss Medicine Faculties and is governed by the requirements of the Federal Law on the Medical Professions.

Admission requirements
The candidate must be a holder of a Bachelor of Medicine from the UNIL.
The holder of a Bachelor of Medicine from another Swiss university may apply for registration.
Enrolment and final dates
The degree course begins in the autumn semester only.
Applications must be submitted to the Admissions Department before the deadline.
Final enrolment date: 30 April.
